Cardiff Fire netminder Lewis Davies is in the Great Britain for World Under-18 Championship duty.
Lewis, from Barry, is in the GB squad for Division Two group A group matches in Tallin, Estonia.
The six-team tournament involves Estonia, along with Australia, Korea, Lithuania and Poland and
runs from Sunday, April 1 to Saturday, April 7.
Former Ysgol Bro Morgannwg pupil Lewis has been in outstanding form for National League Fire this season and earned his selection with a series of big performances.
His call-up to the GB team, who are coached by Tony Hand, underlines the depth of goalkeeping talent in Cardiff.
Fellow Fire netminder Jordan Lawday, aged 19, started for Britain in the World Under-20 Championships earlier this season, while he has been training with Elite League champions Cardiff Devils.
Lawday has also been back-up goalie for Devils during some League matches.
Lewis started watching ice hockey at the age of four when his brother, Owain, was playing and took up the sport two years later while he was a pupil at Ysgol St Curig.
Fire signed Lewis on a two-way deal which means he can play for their first and second teams.
He came through the Cardiff junior system, has been a regular within the South West conference systems and represented England in the Quebec tournament.
Lewis was also selected for GB at under-16 level and Fire coach Mark Cuddihy says: “Lewis is a top prospect who wants to test himself and push himself to the next level.”
GB have made a change to their roster for the Under-18 World Championship.
Lewis English, who plays for Swedish team Nynasham, replaces injured Lewis Houston.

Great Britain Women have named a squad of 22 for their World Championships in Maribor.
GB will compete in Division Two Group A against hosts Slovenia, Australia, DPR Korea, Mexico and the Netherlands.
The six-team tournament runs from Saturday, March 31 to Friday, April 6 as GB will be looking to build on their bronze medal in Korea last year.

Ice Hockey UK’s Under-20 National Final will be played as part of the EIHA’s National Finals weekend.
It is the first time that showpiece under-20 final will be part of National Finals weekend and the final will be between Coventry Blaze and Fife Falcons on Saturday, May 5.
Ice Sheffield will host the three-day event over early May bank holiday weekend from Saturday, May 5 to Monday, May 7.
