Devils Stun Steelers With Icey Six-Goal Blast

Cardiff Devils powered to a 6-2 victory at Sheffield Steelers and left the home team gasping for breath.

Devils knocked the wind out of Steelers with a start which left the home team down and out after the first period.

Captain Jake Morissette and his team led 4-0 after 20 minutes and 6-1 going into the final period.

Devils fired 42 shots on the Steelers goal with Jackson Whistle starting and Brad Day later taking over between the pipes.

Sheffield had won 2-1 at Manchester Storm on Saturday, but they could not stop Devils completing their second four-point weekend.

Cardiff have played four, won four in Elite League and Challenge Cup fixtures, scoring 23 goals and conceding five.

Stephen Dixon led the way with two goals, while Craig Moore, Layne Ulmer, Joey Martin and Bryce Reddick completing the tally.

Defenceman Mark Richardson was back in the line-up after recovering from any injury, but Justin Faryna is continuing his battle for fitness.
