Bench Warmer Ben Wilmot Back For Swans

Swansea City will have central defender Ben Wilmot available again for Saturday’s Championship match at home to Reading.

The Watford loanee, who has been an unused substitute in seven of the Welsh club’s eight League matches so far, was ineligible to play against his parent club on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup but could be back in the squad for this clash at the Liberty Stadium.

Swans head coach Steve Cooper will be missing striker Aldo Kalulu, who continues to work his way back to fitness from an ankle injury.

Full-back Jake Bidwell will serve the second game of his three-match suspension after the red card he received at Bristol City last weekend, and the fitness of Ben Cabango will be checked after he felt some pain in his hamstring against Watford.

Cooper is confident Sweden international Kristoffer Peterson can still make an impact at the club, even though he has yet to get picked for a league game.

The winger moved from Heracles but has had to bide his time and expressed his frustration this week in the Swedish media.

“I saw the interview and agreed with everything he said, including moving from a different country and taking a bit of time to settle,” Cooper said. “Kris is here for the long term. I really believe in him.”

Reading manager Jose Gomes is expected to recall a number of his key men for the trip to south Wales.

The Royals made 10 changes for the Carabao Cup tie at Wolves on Wednesday and only just missed out on a spot in the fourth round, losing on penalties.

On-loan Chelsea defender Matt Miazga was back in the XI after a hamstring injury and the returning Tyler Blackett started too.

The former is expected to retain his place in the line-up, but forward Danny Loader has struggled with illness of late and could miss out again.
