Carmarthen Town Announce Signings Ahead Of New Season

Carmarthen Town have confirmed five new arrivals have signed for Mark Aizlewood’s side ahead of the forthcoming Welsh Premier League season.

18-year-old Tyler Brock is the latest to pen a deal with the Old Gold and is expected to feature for both the club’s first-team and development side.

The former Pontardawe Town forward was signed after netting a hat-trick in the development side last week.

Brock is joined by wingers Kostya Georgievsky and Kyle Williams.

Georgievsky forged a reputation as dangerous young winger in his previous spells in the WPL with Port Talbot Town and then Aberystwyth. Williams, formerly of Welsh League sides Risca and Goytre, has got of to an encouraging start with his new club scoring and setting up another in their recent friendly against STM.

Carmarthen have also recruited Swansea-born right midfielder Liam Walsh, whose former clubs include Wrexham, Rhyl and Gresford.

Completing the list of new recruits is Scott Delaney – nephew of former Wales and Old Gold favourite Mark Delany. Scott is a highly-rated centre half and arrives from Pembrokeshire league outfit Goodwick United.

Under Aizlewood, Carmarthen have an impressive record of identifying lower league talent who’ve then gone to establish themselves in the WPL and the club are hopeful of further additions before starting their season against Llandudno on August 12.

Carmarthen are currently in the process of having a 3G surface installed at their Richmond Park home and will play their opening six league fixtures away from home.

The Old Gold’s top-six finish last term was one of the shocks of the season with their resilient, committed Phase 1 displays gaining plaudits before they eventually lost out narrowly to Cardiff Met in the Europa League Play-Off semi-final.

The club have also confirmed that Kyle Bassett and Mark Jones have departed the club due to work and travel commitments. Declan Carroll has also left the club and returns to Aberystwyth Town.
