Davies Admits He Is In World Superbikes Dreamland With His Ducati Weapon

Chaz Davies admitted he was in World Superbikes dreamland after he roared to a stunning double win in Spain.

The Knighton-born flier dominated both races after taking the lead in the early laps at the Motorland Aragon track.

Davies’ double win – the third of his career – took hm from fourth to second in the championship standings 26 points behind Jonathan Rea.

But the Ducati ace admits it will be back to square one at the next round in Assen, Holland, as he looks to keep the pressure on the reigning champ.

The 29-year-old, runner-up last year, said: “The weekend feels like a dream.

“Brilliant, what can I say, it’s hard to describe a weekend like this.

“To take home the double win and get the 700th World Superbikes win is something pretty special.

“I feel like we turned a corner, we’ve got a better weapon now and I think that shows in the results.

“The bike was competitive from the get-go, and we only made small tweaks.

“The technical upgrades brought here have given us what we needed.

“In Thailand I could only stay in the slipstream, while here I’ve been able to pass my opponents also on the straight.

“In Assen, however, we will start from scratch.

“The season has just begun, and things can change quite quickly, but I’m really happy with our overall package.”
