More than 1,500 Wrexham fans followed their team to Solihull Moors, but their day trip ended in bitter disappointment.
They made up 62 per cent of the 2,412 spectators at Damson Park and underlined that Wrexham fans are among the most passionate fans in non-League football.
The Dragons were toppled from top spot in Vanarama National League football after a 1-0 defeat at Damson Park, dropping to second spot with FA Halifax Town the new leaders.
Solihull’s winning goal was scored by Alex Gudger after 81 minutes and Wrexham suffered their first defeat of the season.
Manager Sam Ricketts and his Wrexham team have earned only one point from their two Bank Holiday weekend matches, having drawn 2-2 at home against Bromley on Saturday.

Former England, Wolves, Blackburn and Leicester goalkeeper Tim Flowers, now aged 51, is the Solihull manager and he said: “It was a magnificent performance coming off the back of a disappointing result at Harrogate.
“Credit goes to every player. We played top of the league opposition, there was a huge away following and this was a second game in three days. It could have been a bad one for us.
“You either flake away or stand up and face the challenge. We were excellent.
“Chris Holroyd had a header from near the p4nalty spot, but apart from that our goalkeeper wasn’t really worked. We defended properly and earned our reward.”
Referee Simeon Lucas gave eight minutes injury time, but Wrexham could not find the goal they needed.
Ricketts made a number of changes with Kevin Roberts, Luke Young, Chris Holroyd and Rekeil Pyke starting.
James Jennings, Nicky Deverdics and Stuart Beavon were ruled out by minor injuries with Freddie Hinds and Scott Burgess among the substitutes.
Key defender Manny Smith limped off after half an hour with Doug Tharme going on for his second league appearance of the weekend.
Holroyd had a big chance after 44 minutes when Pyke’s cross from the right was headed down by Mike Fondop. It fell to Holroyd on the edge of the penalty area, but his first-time effort flew wide.
It was Holroyd again soon after half-time when Roberts crossed and Holroyd threw himself at the ball only to see goalkeeper Ryan Boot save.
New loan signing Burgess went on for his debut after an hour, replacing Summerfield in midfield.
The killer blow for Wrexham hopes came with nine minutes left in the West Midlands when a Kyle Storer free-kick was fired into the penalty area, knocked down by Liam Daley and Grudger netted from close range.
Wrexham now focus on successive home matches at the Racecourse against Aldershot next Saturday and new leaders Halifax the following Tuesday.
