Gerwyn Price Hits Darts Perfection

Gerywn Price is celebrating the first nine-dart finish of his career – completed while competing at the Czech Masters.

The world number seven averaged over 100 in his 6-4 victory over England’s Glen Durrant and managed the perfect finish in the final leg.

Former rugby player Price hit 180, 180, 141 in his nine darts to gain massive cheers from the crowd in Prague.

“It’s the first one I’ve ever hit in competition, but it was going to happen sooner or later,” said Price.

“Every time I’m on for the nine I always miss the double but today it’s gone in.”

Price has set up a third round clash with Australian Simon Whitlock who survived a scare to beat Justin Pipe in a 6-5 win.

If the Welsh number one gets through, he won’t have to worry about facing 32-time European tour event winner Michael van Gerwen.

The favourite missed 13 darts at a double as Keegan Brown sent the world number one home in a last leg decider, averaging 97.53 in the process.
