Lilliwhites Aim For A Big Finish To Alliance Season

Rhyl FC are intent on a big finish to their Huws Gray Alliance season.

Manager Matthew Jones and his Lilywhites are 10 points behind leaders Caernarfon Town going into their home clash with Gresford Athletic on Friday evening (7.45pm).

Jones is looking for a strong reaction from the Lilywhites after disappointing results against Penrhyncoch and Ruthin Town in their last two games.

Rhyl await confirmation of new signing Liam Langford’s eligibility, but Tony Davies, Jason Jeffries and James Brewerton are ruled out by suspension.

“It’s been two weeks now since our last game and the heavy defeat to Ruthin,” said Jones. “We are looking to bounce back in positive fashion.

“We’ve had a good two weeks training and a productive friendly game against Bala. We know Gresford are a strong side.

“It’s again down to us to be positive in our approach and put right our deficiencies of. It’s important that we finish the season strongly and put together a run of good results.

“The best place to start will be against Gresford under the lights at Belle Vue. We know the fans will create the atmosphere so it’s our job to reward them with a top performance and result.”

Gresford are four points behind Rhyl with three games in hand.
