Llandudno Aim To Maintain 100% WPL Record On New Thursday Night Slot

The JD Welsh Premier League returns following the international break with early pace setters Llandudno looking to extend their winning run in the first Thursday night fixture of the season (7.45).

The league and broadcast partners Sgorio are trialling a number of Thursday night fixtures through this season that will be streamed exclusively on Facebook Live and the S4C website.

Surprise leaders Llandudno have been in eye-catching form in the early stages of the season and Alan Morgan’s men are searching for their fourth successive league win against visiting Prestatyn Town in what is the first WPL meeting between the two sides.

Llandudno’s last WPL outing saw them record an impressive win over Connah’s Quay, a result which put them three points clear at the top of the table as the league’s only unbeaten team.

Newcomers Prestatyn are still finding their feet following promotion but set themselves a benchmark following a disciplined performance at Bangor City a fortnight ago, in which they were narrowly beaten.

Both sides have since suffered surprise defeats causing early exits from the MG Nathaniel Cup and the two mangers will be seeking a positive response.

“It’s going to be a very hard game for us, they are a young, hungry team, which will cause a lot of teams in the WPL problems this season,” explained Alan Morgan.

“Their performances in games to date have been good and they will pick up points through the season, just hopefully not against us on Thursday.”

The fixture can be viewed here from 7.45pm on Thursday evening.
