Reid’s Return A Boost For Wrexham

Alex Reid has returned to the Racecourse Ground for a second loan spell with Wrexham.

The Fleetwood Town striker’s initial spell lasted 55 days until the victory over Eastleigh on October 22.

Reid, under the rules, has another 38 days remaining from a maximum 93 days permissible for a short-term deal.

That means he is available until November 25 when Wrexham are at home to Aldershot Town.

The 22-year-old year-old scored three times in 12 games for the Reds, making nine starts.

Manager Dean Keates said: “I’m grateful to Fleetwood for allowing Alex to return and this second period will see him in the squad for another seven league fixtures.

“He certainly started with a bang when he first arrived and let’s hope for a few more goals over the coming weeks.

“I played alongside Alex at Rushall Olympic, so I know what he is capable of and he is certainly gaining experience by playing first team football in the National League.”

Keates’ side will look to put their disappointing FA Cup exit at Fylde last weekend out of their minds when they return to National League action on Saturday.

The fifth-placed outfit travel to Dagenham & Redbridge – one place and two points behind them – and defending a 10-match unbeaten run in the league.
