Llandudno’s Matt Edwards could be the new British Rally Champion on Friday night, if the first part of the final double-header finale goes to plan. For the first time in over a decade, the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship joins the FIA World Rally Championship at the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB – with points awarded at the end of Friday’s leg and the final round of the series taking in the remaining Saturday and Sunday stages combined. Co-driven by Abersoch’s Darren Garrod, Edwards is in a four-way fight for the title, and after a sensational season he will need a dramatic turn of bad luck not to become British champion sometime this weekend.
