Justin Tipuric and Hallam Amos will boost a Wales Sevens squad that coach Gareth Williams believes can challenge for medals at the Commonwealth Games. The Wales senior XV pair have been named in their country's Sevens squad for the Games in Australia next month. The duo are included in a 12-man party to head to Queensland in April, fresh from being part of Warren Gatland's Six Nations squad which finished second behind Grand Slam winners Ireland.
The Welsh Rugby Union have told a supporter who complained about drinkers ruining a Wales game it’s not their responsibility, although they are considering changes. A Wales fan paid £260 to take his family of four to watch the Six Nations match against Italy at the Principality Stadium. He then sent an email to the Union after a pint of beer was spilt over his wife and their experience was constantly disturbed by beer dripped from rested pints on the canopy above them, as well as those carrying and fetching drinks from the bars.
Alun Wyn Jones will head a number of rested Wales players this summer who will put their feet up instead of going on tour. The Wales captain - who was man-of-the-match in the 14-13 win over France that clinched runners-up spot in the Six Nations – will miss the June Tests against Argentina and South Africa. Wales face the Springboks in Washington on June 2, followed by a two-Test Argentina tour, with Gatland set to rest a number of players who were involved on last year’s British and Irish Lions’ New Zealand tour.
