Pep Clotet Aims To Bite The Swans' Hand That Used To Feed

Former Swansea City coach Pep Clotet insists he still loves the club but that won’t prevent him from ruining their day on Sunday at the Liberty Stadium. The Spaniard was former manager Garry Monk’s right-hand man for two years and then followed Monk to Birmingham City before one of the Blues’ habitual coups left him in charge this summer. This afternoon, he will seek out some old friends but aim to deny his old club the three points they need to put them joint top of the Championship with Leeds United.

Sam Gordon Equals His Best But Has To Wait On GB Call

Sam Gordon is crossing his fingers that sixth place in the British Championships 100 metre final will be enough to earn him a relay place at next month's World Athletics Championship in Doha. On a mixed first day of the championships for Welsh athletes, Gordon fought his way through to the final, where he was up against the likes of Adam Gemili, Zarnel Hughes and surprise winner Ojie Edoburun. In the first round Gordon cruised to victory and a place in the semi-finals where he was joined by 17-year-old Neath Harrier Owain Lloyd Hughes, who produced a brilliant run to finish second in his heat in 10.66.

Neil Warnock Admits Bluebirds Are Struggling To Keep Up With The High Fliers

Neil Warnock admitted Cardiff City are just trying to “hang on to the coat-tails” of the Championship leaders even though they picked up their first points away from home this season. The Bluebirds manager saw his team draw 0-0 at Blackburn Rovers to stop the leakage of six goals conceded in their previous two away defeats. But an uneventful match, in which Cardiff lacked creative spark, leaves Warnock’s side back in 15th place, already six points behind leaders Leeds United, who could be joined at the top by Swansea City if they beat Birmingham City on Sunday.
