Aaron Ramsey says he is leaving Arsenal with a heavy heart after his move to Juventus was formally confirmed.
The Wales midfielder has reportedly agreed a £400,000 a week deal after signing a contract that will make him the highest earning British player in history in terms of basic salary.
Ramsey’s move to the Italian giants has been widely reported for weeks as he passed a medical last month but it has been finally confirmed he has agreed a four-year deal.
The 28-year-old will join Juventus in the summer ending an 11-year spell with Arsenal who he joined in a near £5million deal in 2008 from boyhood club Cardiff City.
“It is with a heavy heart that I leave after 11 incredible years. Thank you,” Ramsey told the Arsenal fans in an Instagram post.
“You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there through all the highs and lows I’ve encountered during my time at the club.
Ramsey will be the third Welshman to play for the Seri A giants following John Charles and Ian Rush.
The 28-year-old was also linked with Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Paris St-Germain as well as Barcelona and Wales team-mate Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid after talks with Arsenal broke down over a new deal.
Thank you, @aaronramsey

The Gunners did offer a new deal last September but it was turned down.
Ramsey’s role under new boss Unai Emery has also played a part in the move though he insists he will still give 100 per cent for the remainder of the season.
He scored the winning goal in two FA Cup finals for the London club.
