Connah’s Quay’s 100 per cent start to the JD Welsh Premier League season came to an end after they were beaten by Barry Town, as The New Saints go back top of the table on goal difference.
After Kayne McLaggon’s penalty gave Barry Town an early lead, Mamodou Toure struck ten minutes from time to secure a big win for the Jenner Park side and hand the Nomads their first defeat of the season.
The New Saints proved too strong for Caernarfon Town on Friday night in front of over 1300 at The Oval. Goals from Dean Ebbe, Jamie Mullan and substitute Greg Draper fired the champions to the top of the table.
Carmarthen Town claimed their first league win of the campaign against Cardiff Met courtesy of goals from Liam Thomas and Mael Davies either side of half-time.
Nick Rushton marked his return back in the Newtown side by scoring twice as the Robins continued their promising start with a 2-0 win over Bala Town.
Aberystwyth fought back from a goal down to run out 3-1 winners against Llanelli after three goals in 14 minutes in the second-half cancelled out James Loveridge’s opener.
In the Saturday night game, Cefn Druids recorded their first win at the expense of Llandudno who remain winless.
