Celtic Dragons Face Tall Order Against Kiwi Shooter Megan Craig

Celtic Dragons face the tallest shooter in Vitality Superleague netball when they take on Surrey Storm at Cardiff’s Sport Wales National Centre this evening (Monday, 7pm).

Super-tall Kiwi Megan Craig, a 6ft 8ins goal-shooter, will pose a potent threat to a Dragons team intent on firing up their season.

The talented 23-year-old is playing a crucial role in Storm’s bid to qualify for the end-of-season play-offs at Manchester Arena next month.

They have four Superleague fixtures left this season, three of them at home, and Dragons are ready to stir up a Storm in Cardiff tonight.

The only team to have confirmed their place at the finals so far are Manchester Thunder, but that could change with all 10 teams taking to the court on Monday evening with results from each game having a major impact on the hopes of top four qualification.

Team Bath travel to Team Northumbria on a fantastic roll. Having beaten Wasps at home in round 14, they now find themselves outside the final four places on goal average.

The team currently occupying that vital fourth spot, Surrey Storm, head to play Celtic Dragons with both fixtures set for a 7pm centre-pass.

If Bath or Storm slip-up, the winners of the Manchester Thunder and Wasps clash will confirm their qualification for June’s showpiece weekend.

The two teams are locked together on 33 points, sitting third and second respectively.

Also hoping for one of the teams above them to falter will be Sirens. The Scottish team, who host Severn Stars, are six points off the top four with 12 points left up for grabs.

A victory for the hosts will also signal an end for the small final four hopes of Stars.

Another side knowing it’s win or bust for them in round 15 are Hertfordshire Mavericks. They head to Loughborough hoping to spring a shock in a match to be shown live on Sky Sports.
