SD Sealants Sticking With Junior Tour Of Wales

Welsh cycling has been given a boost with SD Sealants renewing their sponsorship of the Junior Tour of Wales for two more years.

The partnership with the UK’s leading specialist sealant application and cosmetic repair company, began in 2016.

It helped the Junior Tour organisers extend the race to the full four days of the August Bank Holiday this year, giving the riders with their toughest course to date.

The renewal will cover the 2018 and 2019 editions of the race, which sees over one hundred junior male riders from across the UK – and beyond – gather to compete over 200 miles of the best roads in Wales.

The tour, inaugurated in 1981 is renowned as the competition for rising cycling stars, with the likes of Geraint Thomas, Mark Cavendish and Tour of Britain stage winner Edvald Boasson Hagen riding in their junior days.

This year’s tour was led from start to finish by new Junior World Time Trial Champion Tom Pidcock, riding for the PH-MAS-Paul Milnes-Oldfield team.

Richard Hopkins, Race Organiser for the Junior Tour of Wales said: “We are delighted to continue and evolve our partnership with SD Sealants, who have become a central part of the Junior Tour family.

“With the stability of a further two years, and hopefully beyond to plan for, there’s so much more we can do.

“We are looking forward to giving the next generations of talent an even better, more exciting race!”.

Nick Jones, SD Sealants Managing Director said: “The Junior Tour of Wales has a long history of giving young, talented riders the opportunity to experience the UK’s best junior race, and we’re very proud to be associated with such an inspiring event.

“This has been an outstanding year for the Tour, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what the next two years brings.”
