Chaz Davies Ready For ‘Home’ Race At Imola After Private Test

Chaz Davis reckons there is still more improvement to come from his Ducati bike after a two-day private test in the Czech Republic.

The Knighton-born rider is second in the World Superbikes standings 30 points behind reigning champ Jonathan Rea after four rounds.

But he is relishing a short break before what will be a home round at Imola for his aruba.it Racing team on May 11-13.

Davies worked on chassis and electronic upgrades to the Panigale R bike ahead of the race in Italy.

And he will also have picked up some vital knowledge of the Brno track which returns to the calendar this year after a five year absence.

Davies, 31, said: ”It’s been a steady test.

“We leave Brno with some room for improvement but, then again, racing is always a different game compared to testing.

“It’s always nice to ride there, even though it’s been windy and with a lot of pollen in the air so the track wasn’t in fantastic conditions.

“We worked hard for two days, gathering solid answers even though we still need to clear a few question marks. Now it’s time to recharge ahead of Imola.”
