Davies' shoulder situation is improving as he heads to penultimate round in Argentina..

Davies Relishing New Challenge In Argentina

Chaz Davies is relishing World Superbikes debut in Argentina this weekend as he looks to seal second place in the championship.

The Powys-born rider will line-up at the newly-built Villicum circuit near San Juan, located in the Northwest area of the country.

Davies has been trying to rest the shoulder he bust twice during the summer break since finishing second at his last pouting in Magny-Cours while also training for the penultimate round of the season.

The Aruba-it Racing Ducati rider has 335 points and is 26 points ahead of Holland’s Michael van der Mark in the battle to finish second in the standings behind Jonathan Rea.

Chaz Davies claimed his 12th podium finish of season in France.

The 31-year-old said: “It feels good to head to Argentina, it’s always exciting to get out of our reach and go to new tracks on the calendar, especially in a place we’ve never been before.

“The track looks quite fun to ride, but we need to spin a few laps first. Its anti-clockwise layout seems also physically ideal, given the conditions of my right shoulder, but we just have to wait and see.

“I tried to give the shoulder time to recover in between races while also keeping it active and well stretched. We’ve been learning a bit in the last couple of races and we’ll try to translate it into this new challenge. I’m really looking forward to see the circuit.”

There are just 100 points left to race for with the final round in Qatar.
