Jac Morgan Signs New Deal To Stay With Ospreys

By Paul Jones

Wales flanker Jac Morgan has signed a new deal with the Ospreys – bucking the trend of recent internationals to move elsewhere.

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a fresh agreement to continue with the region he joined from the Scarlets, although the length of the deal has not been revealed.

His decision is a major boost for the Ospreys who have recently lost Wales centre Joe Hawkins and flanker Ethan Roots to Exeter.

Morgan had also been linked with a number of English and French clubs.

Morgan, who is currently out of action with an ankle injury, said: “I’ve enjoyed playing for the Ospreys and I’m delighted to be extending my contract with them.

“I feel I’ve developed as a player during my time here and I’m excited to see what we can achieve as a team in the future.”

Morgan has won nine senior Wales caps and become an important figure for head coach Warren Gatland as he builds towards the World Cup in France later this year.

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth said: “Jac personifies what we look for in a player. For his age, he is a highly influential player on the pitch.

“His attitude, coupled with his ability, have both allowed him to excel for the Ospreys. We’re looking forward to seeing him progress and grow with the team.”

“With everything that’s gone on in the last few months, it’s great to announce positive news for the Ospreys fanbase and Welsh rugby as a whole.”
