TNS To Hold Scottish Training Camp Ahead Of Champions League Qualifiers

Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints have announced they will be holding a training camp in Scotland next month as they prepare for their forthcoming Champions League qualifying campaign.

The Saints will play three behind closed doors games against Aberdeen, St. Johnstone and Rangers prior to what will be their sixth-consecutive Champions League qualifying campaign.

Last summer Craig Harrison’s side reached the second qualifying round where they were defeated by APOEL, who went on to win their UEFA Europa League group stage before being eventually defeated by Anderlecht.

Saints held out for a goalless first-leg draw at Park Hall before being losing 3-0 in Cyprus.

After a record-breaking domestic season, The New Saints will be hoping of a deeper European run this time around.

The side will be hoping to reach the third qualifying round, where even if they were defeated they would enter the UEFA Europa League play-off round and would be one tie away from reaching the Europa League group stage.

The New Saints have so far added defender Blaine Hudson to their squad but it is believed the club are close to finalising as many as four new signings.

The draw for the first two UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds takes place on June 19.
