Welsh Premier League Newcomers Start At Home

Newly promoted Caernarfon Town and Llanelli will both start their seasons with home fixtures on the opening weekend of the new JD Welsh Premier League season, which will commence on Friday August 10.

Caernarfon will welcome Cefn Druids to The Oval, in what will also feature in the league’s first televised game of the game of the new season on Sunday August 12. Llanelli will host Connah’s Quay on the same day at Stebonheath.

The season kicks off on Friday night with games at Aberystwyth, Bala Town and Cardiff Met.

Aberystwyth face Llandudno, Bala Town face Carmarthen Town and Newtown visit Cardiff Met. Bala’s clash with the Old Gold will be streamed live via Facebook.

League champions The New Saints begin their defence of their title at home to Barry Town United on the Saturday.

The league will once again retain its league split format. All 12 clubs will play each other home and away (22 games) in Phase 1 of the season before the top-half and bottom-half of the table breaking off into two separate conferences for Phase 2, giving an additional 10 games before an end of season play-off for the remaining five non-European qualifying clubs.

Sgorio meanwhile have announced their initial list of games selected for live coverage.
