Zoe Backstedt powered to the girls under-16s title at the National Cyclo-Cross Championships in Gravesend.

The Pontyclun-based rider again underlined her huge potential as she added to the under 14 title she won last year having stepped up an age category.

Backstedt went into the race in Kent as favourite given the form National Trophy series events.

And the Storey Racing rider did not disappoint with an impressive victory over defending champion Millie Couzens.
