The Wales under 16 rugby league side will play two international matches this year, starting with one on neutral territory when they take on Scotland at Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday 28th July
Wales will then take on England in their annual international on Saturday 1st September at Stebonheath Park in Llanelli.
Both games will kick off at 1pm. Sponsorship is available for both. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
The Wales side will also have a training camps on the weekends of 19-21 July to train before the Scotland game, and 9-11 August to prepare for the England encounter, which Wales won for the first time last year.
Wales coach Jason Seddon said: “Now that the performance camps, trials and final selection are complete, we can now bring the new squad together in camp for the first time and I know all the players and staff are really looking forward to the journey in 2018.
“To say that making the final selection was difficult is a huge understatement, but it is also testament to the ever increasing pool of of fantastic young rugby league talent in Wales.
“We go into the first of two camps up in Wigan on 19th – 21st July in preparation for our first fixture in 2018 against Scotland, who themselves are a developing nation at this level, but will no doubt bring a lot of raw enthusiasm and spirit to the playing field when we meet for the very first time at this level on Saturday 28th July at Robin Park Arena, Wigan.
“The Welsh squad in 2018 is again young with a strong cohort of under 15s in it and it will be interesting to see how they progress as the programme unfolds.
“Ultimately, the development of these young players is the key to long term success for Wales RL and the opportunity to play within an international environment will assist in that process and build on the foundations in place from 2017.
“Our aim is to put Wales RL in a position to create a legacy that has a positive impact for the sport at all levels within a country that continues to attract, develop and produce some phenomenal Rugby League talent.”
