Delayed Home Start For Newport County In 2017-18 Season

Newport County start their 2017-18 League Two season away against Stevenage on Saturday, August 5.

They are due to host Crewe Alexandra at Rodney Parade a week later, but that fixture will be rearranged because of work on the playing surface.

A new pitch is being laid at County’s home stadium.

That means Chesterfield will be the first visitors to Newport on Saturday, August 26.

County’s first derby clash with newly-promoted Forest Green Rovers is at the New Lawn on Saturday, October 14. The return is in February.

Newport have a long away trip to finish their season when they go to Carlisle United in their final fixture, while they go to play Wycombe Wanderers on Boxing Day and are at home against Exeter City on New Year’s Day.
