Now You Can Take Home A ‘Small Piece’ Of The Principality Stadium

Sports fans can now own a ‘small piece’ of the Principality Stadium, thanks to a new range of high quality prints, created by Cardiff artist and graphic designer, David Hopkins.

The Small Pieces range features images of famous landmarks based on David’s own distinctive photographs.

The images are then reworked, recoloured and retouched to make highly graphic artworks that are unique reminders of a memorable visit and works of art in their own right.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dave has included a ‘small piece’ of Wales’ national stadium among the first works in the range.

The stadium finds itself in illustrious company, alongside the likes of Cardiff Castle, Nelson’s Column, the Sydney Opera House, and St Paul’s Cathedral.

“The stadium has such a distinctive design, and it also means so much to so many people, it just had to be included,” said David, who has set up and run a series of design agencies in Cardiff over the past 40 years, most recently The Info Group in Rhiwbina, which has now been bought out by Creation Media.

The Bristol based agency continues to operate The Info Group successfully out of offices in Cardiff Bay.

“Small Pieces are designed in the same style, are all the same size and in the same high quality black frames, but they are all signed and numbered as part of an initial limited edition.”

More images will be added to the Small Pieces range, and although David won’t reveal what they are, it seems certain they will include other famous sports venues.

Small Pieces products are currently available online at www.screamprint.co.uk as well as at Cardiff Castle, and David expects the range to roll out into gift shops, galleries, and visitor attractions in the coming months.

There is more good news for sports fans because the Small Pieces range is just part of David’s latest venture, Screamprint – a company which incorporates several other design ranges, which are likely to involve sports-inspired products: Traphic, motoring-themed designs based on the distinctive UK road signs; Cullars, where the use of colour is the distinctive theme; and the long-established Procrastinator range of ‘timewasting’ doodling books and pads.
