I Can Be Ki To Swansea’s Survival, Says Sung-Yueng

Ki Sung-Yueng admits Swansea City are in crisis as they face a scrap to save their Premier League lives.

The Swans are 19th only off the bottom on goal difference from Sunderland and are six points from safety ahead of Saturday’s trip to Everton.

But Ki has vowed to use his experience of a successful relegation battle when on loan at the Black Cats three seasons ago to help save the club.

The South Korean midfielder, 27, said: “The team is in the relegation zone, so the atmosphere cannot be good.

“We are feeling much pressure. In order to overcome this, we need to win as soon as possible, then we can escape from the relegation zone.

“I have experienced a relegation battle in the past so I know the atmosphere well. I will make the most from that experience.

“I cannot lead the team by myself, but I will try to work with team-mates to overcome this crisis.”

The Swans have not won since the opening day while new boss Bob Bradley has picked up one point from his four games in charge.

Ki added: “The manager is trying to figure out the team and players. It’s not easy to change a team in a month. Upcoming matches will be more important.”
