Borja Baston Goes Out The Swans Exit Door As Tammy Abraham Comes In

Borja Baston is leaving Swansea City for a season-long loan deal with Spanish club Malaga.

The Spanish striker moved to the Swans from Atletico Madrid for a club-record £13.5m fee last summer, but endured a torrid time in the Premier League.

Borja played only 18 League matches for the Swans, mostly coming on as a substitute, and scored just one goal – netting in a 3-2 defeat at Arsenal.

The 24-year-old returns to his homeland for the 2017/18 campaign, having spent all his career prior to moving to Swansea in Spain.

His departure comes after Swansea confirmed the signing of Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan.

Abraham signed a new five-year deal with parent-club Chelsea ahead of the loan move.

Abraham was part of the England squad that lost the European U21 Championship semi-final to Germany last month, and spent last season on loan in the Sky Bet Championship with Bristol City.

Swans boss Paul Clement worked with Abraham in his time at Chelsea and was keen to bring the 19-year-old to the Liberty Stadium to boost his attacking options.

Abraham scored 23 goals for the Robins in his first full season of professional football.
