Davies Looking To Do Another Italian Job On World Superbikes Rivals

Chaz Davies gets the second half of his World Superbikes campaign underway in Italy on Friday looking to strike back in the title fight.

The Knighton-born flier slipped to third in the standings after his home round in Donington Park three weeks ago.

Davies is on 231 points – 62 behind reigning champ Jonathan Rea who has a 56 point advantage over Kawasaki team-mate Tom Sykes.

But Davies is looking for a boost at Misano in the second of two home rounds for his Ducati team in Italy.

The 29-year-old said: “It’s good to go into Misano having tested there a couple of weeks ago.

“We at least got a headstart with some of the work usually done early during the race weekend, such as gear ratio and basic setup.

“The track has not changed much, it’s still in great shape after the resurfacing done last year.

“We’ve also introduced a couple of new components that turned out to be positive and should help us a little bit in the race.

“Last year I had my first podium in Misano, but we’re looking for something more this time and will try our best to put on the same display as in Imola for our supporters.”

Davies blasted to a stunning double win in Imola in May.
