Chaz Davies will not require surgery after refracturing his right collarbone in a training accident at Aragon and expects to be fit for the next round of World Superbikes in Portugal.
The Knighton-born rider suffered a near-identical injury at the start of the lengthy summer break forcing him to miss his Aruba it racing Ducati team’s ‘Race of Champions’ at Misano in Italy.
After recovering over the summer break he took part in the recent in-season test in Portugal but then was hit by the latest injury while training in Spain sustaining a refracture with partial separation of his right collarbone.
Davies will not undergo surgery and stick to rehabilitation and strength training ahead of the Portimao round on September 14-16.

The 31-yerar-old cannot afford to miss any races if he is to prolong the title chase with reigning three-time champ Jonathan Rea of Kawasaki.
Davies is currently second in the standings but trails the Ulsterman by a massive 92 points with four rounds – and a maximum of 200 points – remaining.
During the summer, Davies was confirmed as as Ducati rider until the end of 2020 and will be partnered by Alvaro Bautista in 21019 after his switch from Moto GP.
