By Gareth James

Swansea City defender Kyle Naughton has agreed to a fresh one-year contract that will prolong his tenure with the club until the conclusion of June 2024.

The 34-year-old’s existing agreement was set to conclude later this month, but he has reached an understanding that guarantees his presence in the Swansea squad for an additional year.

This will mark a remarkable nine years of service in the Swans’ colours for Naughton since his arrival from Tottenham in January 2015.

Naughton is rapidly approaching an impressive milestone of 300 appearances for Swansea.

His versatility has regularly been a key asset for the club as he has been utilised as a center-back, full-back, wing-back, and midfielder in recent seasons.

Initially starting his professional journey at Sheffield United, the former England Under-21 international showcased his talent, catching the attention of Harry Redknapp, who brought him to Tottenham in 2009.

While at Tottenham, Naughton embarked on loan spells with Middlesbrough, Leicester, and Norwich, ultimately solidifying his position at White Hart Lane before his move to SA1.
