Neil Warnock's Bluebirds Take On Scottish Test At Home

Cardiff City play Scottish Championship team Livingston FC at home on Friday, July 28 (7pm).

The pre-season fixture replaces the proposed match against Portsmouth which was cancelled when the clubs were drawn against each other in the Carabao Cup.

Livingston are newly promoted to the Championship in Scotland, having won the League One title in 2016-17.

Head coach David Hopkin, 46, is a former Chelsea and Crystal Palace player.

Midfield player Hopkin played alongside Bluebirds favourite Eddie Newton at Chelsea.

The match against Livingston is Cardiff’s final pre-season match before their start their Championship campaign at Burton Albion the following weekend.

“We had a couple of options to play against Italian or Spanish opposition, but I wanted to have a British-based side to play against with it being our final game before the season starts,” said manager Neil Warnock.

“Livingston will give us a good game and they have a couple of players that I would like to watch in person. In this respect it kills two birds with one stone.”

Ticket information is being finalised.
