JD Welsh Premier League strugglers Prestatyn and Carmarthen could have their fate sealed this afternoon as time runs out for the two sides to turn around their season.
Prestatyn must end Barry Town’s run of five straight victories if they are to have any chance of avoiding the drop. A defeat at Jenner Park would relegate the Seasiders.
In the event of Prestatyn drawing, they will also go down if Aberystwyth get a point from their visit to Llandudno.
Both Llandudno and Aberystwyth are still mathematically not safe ahead their meeting this afternoon and three points for Llandudno would secure their top-flight status.
Carmarthen Town picked up a vital three points at Prestatyn last week but their 21 year stay in the WPL remains under serious threat.
Carmarthen travel to Newtown and will demoted if they lose and their closest rivals Aberystwyth win at Llandudno.
At the top end of the table, Connah’s Quay and Bangor City could pull away from Bala Town in their three-way battle to secure automatic European qualification.
Bangor City will be hoping Alex Darlington can strike against his former club The New Saints, in the afternoon’s televised game, after the former Saint opened his goal account for the Citizens last weekend.
Connah’s Quay, second, are ahead of Bangor in the table on goal difference. They entertain a Cardiff Met side who’ve hit a rocky patch of form having taken just a single point since the league split in January.
