Sigurdsson Looking For Win To Kick-Start Swans

Gylfi Sigurdsson insists struggling Swansea City just need one win to kick-start their campaign.

The Swans made it nine games without a victory as old boy Wilfried Bony struck twice in their 3-1 defeat at Stoke City on Monday.

Bob Bradley’s men are still one off the bottom and face Manchester United in their final game on Sunday before the international break.

But Sigurdsson, 27, insisted: “We have to keep going, there’s plenty left to play for.

“We need just one win to kick-start our season and get our confidence.

“Once you get that one win, things look easier and you get that confidence back into the team and you can build on that.”

“We had a run where we played Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leicester City and Chelsea so those games were very tough.

“It wasn’t like we were getting battered in all of those games. We were in the game and losing by one goal.”

Sigurdsson admits this weekend’s clash with out-of-form United is crucial as the Swans look to avoid another relegation scrap.

He added: ”Everyone is fighting for something and I think you’ve seen in the league this year and last year, anyone can beat anyone.

“It’s a home game for us, so it’s very important that we perform well and we get something out of the game.”
