Wales Face Barbados Test In Netball World Youth Cup

Wales take on Barbados in a Netball World Youth Cup play-off match in Botswana this lunchtime (Friday).

Head coach Natalie Peperell and her team were left bitterly disappointed by their 51-39 defeat against Botswana in front of a deafening home crowd yesterday.

“We are disappointed with the loss against Botswana yesterday,” said Head Coach Natalie Peperell, “ but we are looking forward to taking the positives into today’s game against Barbados.

“We need to be clinical and consistent across the full 60 minutes.

“The girls are raring to go today and are up for a competitive game against a strong Caribbean team.”

Botswana started strong and won the first quarter 18-8, but Wales powered back to come out on top 10-7 in the second quarter.

The Welsh girls worked hard to claw their way back, but Botswana regained control and won to earn a 9th-16th place play-off spot.

The Wales v Barbados clash is a 13th-16th place play-off.
