Webb Back In Wales Squad

Rhys Webb could be in line for a dramatic Wales recall to face England at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Ospreys scrum-half was today recalled into Warren Gatland’s Six Nations squad after just three comeback matches for his region.

Webb has come through a replacement appearance against Munster and full outings against Connacht and Leinster with no ill effects from the foot injury which ruled him out of the World Cup.

Now, the 27-year-old has been brought back into the squad and will put pressure on in-form current first choice Gareth Davies of the Scarlets and back-up Lloyd Williams of the Cardiff Blues.

Webb has not been seen in international action since being helped from the field against Italy last September when a serious foot injury wrecked his hopes of playing for Wales at the World Cup.

At the time it was feared he would miss the entire Six Nations, too, but his determination to get fit could now offer Wales coach Warren Gatland another choice at No.9 for the last two games of the tournament, against England and Italy.
