The New Saints Sign Trio Ahead Of Summer European Campaign

Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints have moved to bolster their side with the arrival of three new signings.

The club confirmed the departures of nine out of contract players last week and manager Scott Ruscoe and his assistant Steve Evans have wasted no time in finalising deals to add to the Saints squad.

Attacking midfielder Danny Redmond was the first player to ink terms with the Park Hall club arriving for Hamilton Academical. The 27-year-old made 11 (14) appearances in the SPL last season and will add to the sides attacking options following the recent departures of Wes Fletcher and Robbie Parry.

“He is a player that can play in a number of positions, but the major factors in the decision to sign him were his enthusiasm, determination and what he can do in possession for us. He is an undoubtedly talented player that we look forward to having with us,” Scott Ruscoe told the club’s official website.

Ruscoe has also added two young defenders to the squad with Josh Hmami and Joash Nembhard arriving from Accrington and Staines Town respectively.

Hmami, 19, completes his move after impressing whilst on trial with the club last season having made his first and only Football League appearance with Accrington last December.

20-year-old Nembhard completes the trio and is looking forward to developing his career with Saints. “I’m very pleased to sign for TNS and excited for what the future holds for me. I’m looking forward to being involved in European ties and being a part of the ongoing silverware collection that the club seems to be taking part in year after year, trophy after trophy,” he said.

The New Saints say further announcements regarding player signings will be made in due course.

Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that they will host fellow European qualifiers Cefn Druids on Wednesday, June 20, as part of their European preparations.

Saints will be seeded in the draw for the Champions League second qualifying round which will be made in three weeks. Their first leg second qualifying round will be played on 10/11 July with the second leg scheduled for 17/18 July 2018.

Cefn Druids, along with Bala Town, will begin their Europa League campaign even earlier, heading into their first preliminary qualifying round at the end of June!
