Bangor Youngster Cavanagh Makes Llandudno Switch

Llandudno have announced their first new signing of the summer following the arrival of young striker Shaun Cavanagh from Bangor.

The 19-year old was promoted to the Bangor first-team squad last season after impressing in the WPL Development League but was restricted to handful of substitute appearances with his only goal coming against Llandudno.

Cavanagh came off the bench to net a late winner in Bangor’s 2-1 win over Llandudno on Boxing Day.

Llandudno struggled for goals at times last season and Cavanagh could be given an increased role as Alan Morgan looks to freshen up his squad.

“It’s a very good signing for us, Shaun’s a young lad from North Wales with lots of talent, but also with a huge amount more potential which hopefully he will fulfil with us moving forward. He did really well against us last season scoring the winner at Bangor and we want him to score those goals for us.

“I met with both Shaun and his Dad to discuss his and our future and I’m glad we all saw eye to eye, but a big thanks to Craig Hogg for getting the deal over the line today, it’s great to have him on board,” said the Llandudno boss.

Alan Morgan will also have a new addition to his backroom team next season with Chris Morrell joining from Prestatyn Town after it was announced first-team coach Sean Eardley has taken up at post at Caernarfon Town.

Midfield duo Tom Dix and Danny Hughes will both remain at the club next season whilst Mike Williams, James Joyce and Sam Hart all have existing deals in place.

Forward Lewis Buckley heads a list of names departing the club after signing for Cefn Druids.

Leo Riley, Liam Dawson and Jamal Crawford have also all left the club.
