Henry Jones’ Bangor City Future Could Become Clearer This Week

The future of WPL Young Player of the Year Henry Jones could become clearer this week with the out of contract Bangor City midfielder holding further talks to determine his future.

Jones played a key role in helping Bangor qualify for European football this season and his performances have not gone unnoticed by potential suitors.

Jones joined the Citizens last August after being released from Swansea City and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Welsh Premier League scoring 10 goals in his 29 appearances.

The club confirmed last week that Jones had been offered a new deal but the player is believed to be weighing up all options.

Bangor face stiff competition to keep hold of Jones with Wrexham and TNS speculated to be among those interested in the ex-Welsh Under-21 international.

The 23-year old is regarded as one of the brightest talents playing in the WPL and it would provide new Bangor City manager Kevin Nicholson with a major boost were he to pen a new deal at Nantporth ahead of their forthcoming UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign.

City have also announced a three-year deal with Italian sportswear giants Kappa as well as confirming their shirt sponsor Vaughan Sports Management will also be substantially increasing their sponsorship.
