Chaz Davies Feels The Pain In Spain With Crash…But Is Quickly Back On His Bike

Chaz Davies saw his hopes of another top six finish in the opening weekend of World Superbikes dashed in Spain

The Powys-born rider crashed his Team Go Eleven bike on the opening lap of Sunday’s race as he was caught out by the damp conditions on the Motorland Aragon track.

Davies did remount his Ducati and went on to finish 19th – setting the fastest lap in the process – as Scott Redding’s gamble on tyre strategy paid off against Kawasaki team-mate Jonathan Rea.

Davies, in his first outing for his new team, had finished fifth in Saturday’s race and 11th in Sunday’s opening Superpole race of the season.
