Darren Rogers Named New Chair Of Weightlifting Wales

Darren Rogers has been appointed as the new Chair of Weightlifting Wales.

Rogers, a very well-known and respected member of Weightlifting Wales, succeeds Barry Eaton in the post.

A Category 1 IWF Referee, he has been present at nearly all WW and British Weight Lifting events for many years as a volunteer.

“I would like to thank Barry Eaton for the hard work, dedication and vision he brought to Weightlifting Wales while he was Chair,” said Rogers.

“I look forward to working with the board, the staff and the members. Weightlifting Wales will continue to grow the support available to its staff, lifters, members and volunteers in these challenging times and beyond.”

Darren joined the board via election during the General Meeting earlier this month along with Ross Miller and Julian Farmer.

Also new the board, are Vicky Gottwald and Wendy Eley, all joining current members, Roy Headey and Gareth Evans, Wales’s 2018 Commonwealth champ.
