Olivia BREEN (WALES) – gold

On her victory:

“It’s taken nine years and I’ve waited for this day. I feel absolutely on top of the world. This is the best day of my life.”

“It’s been nine years of hard work, I’ve never run this fast and I’m just so happy!

“I’m just emotional and I can’t believe it. I want to say thank you to all my team for believing in me and I’ve just kept going.

“Obviously, I’ve had days when I have thought: ‘Why am I doing this?’ We all have. But you just have to keep going.

“It will come eventually and nine years of hard work… I’m just ecstatic!

“Sophie’s obviously been my main rival for years but I’ve just kept saying: ‘Livvy, you can do this, it will come’ and it’s come.”
