Chaz Davies shows his delight at finishing third in Magny-Cours

Chaz Davies Happy After Bagging Another World Superbikes Podium

Chaz Davies is set to finish third in this year’s truncated World Superbikes Championship after roaring to another podium in France.

The Knighton-born rider followed up his fourth place in the first race on Sunday with third on Sunday as Aruba.it Racing Ducati team-mate Scott Redding triumphed.

Davies now has a 19 point lead over fourth-placed Michael van der Mark with just one round left in the season in Portugal on 16-18 October.

“I am very satisfied with this result. The feeling with the bike has been really positive all weekend, and for this, I want to thank my team for the work done in these days,” said Davies.

“The start was good, and I pushed hard to get Van Der Mark. Then I had a good duel with Jonny (Rea), and I’m happy to have finished with this good result”.

Chaz Davies celebrates his third at Magny-Cours with race winning team-mate Scott Redding.

Davies started in fifth spot but was quickly chasing the leading group.

In the space of a few laps he took two secs out of Kawasaki’s reigning champ Rea before overtaking the Northern Irishman with seven laps left.

Davies was able to defend this spot in the closing laps as Redding triumphed.

And it meant Rea will have to wait until the final round to seal a sixth successive title though he has a 59 point lead over Redding.
